8. The Monkey Head Transplant

American neurosurgeon Dr. Robert White successfully performed a head transplant on a monkey in 1970. After the groundbreaking surgery, the monkey was still able to see, hear, smell, taste, feel, and even eat. After nine days, the monkey died due to immunorejection.
