8. Goblin Shark
The goblin shark (Mitsukurina owstoni) is also a deep-sea fish called “the living fossil” having been around since the time of dinosaurs. This shark’s snout is makes it unique. It’s long, flat, and very pointed. The jaws can protrude during eating, giving the goblin a very unusual look.
The goblin shark has long, sharp teeth in the front of its mouth. The upper teeth are slightly longer than the lower teeth. These sharp teeth are used for catching fish while the teeth in the back of the mouth are small and used for crushing prey like crustaceans.
Compared to other sharks like the Great White, goblins are harmless since they are rarely found, even though their habitat ranges from the western Pacific, the western Indian Ocean, and the western and eastern Atlantic.
