A report by Buzz Pinas revealed that Disneyland Philippines will allegedly be erected in Ilocos Norte. An unnamed employee of the city government infrastructure department posted the status on Facebook confirming the construction of the international theme park that will run for three year in the country.
As exciting as it may sound for Disney lovers, the employee’s claim is yet to be confirmed by Disney company.
Previously, First District Rep. Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin wrote a letter to chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company Robert Iger to consider putting up the theme park in Clark, Pampanga.
“Aside from the huge space it provides, the Clark Freeport Zone can be an attractive destination for Disneyland theme park because of the tax-free privileges given to locators,” Lazatin wrote in the letter.
Moreover, the lawmaker said that the world-class Clark International airport as well as great hotel accommodations will make it easier for tourists and holiday-makers to enjoy their visit to the Disneyland Park.
“Together with our population of more than 90 million Filipinos, a Disneyland theme park in the Philippines could be a major income generating site for your company,” the solon added.
However, Lazatin has not received a response from Iger regarding his proposal.
After paying a visit to different amusement parks with his daughters in the 1930’s and 1940’s, Walt Disney, co-founder of the Walt Disney Company, thought of building a theme park where both kids and adults could have fun together.
Dubbed as the happiest place on Earth, Disneyland had over 650 million guests since it opened in 1955.`
“To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world,” Walt Disney said in 1955.
