First it was ready-to-drink Milo, then it was Chuckie chocolate milk. Now it’s Dutch Mill’s turn.

Netizen Krsnalyn Gagni-Velasco posted photos of a black substance she found in the tetra pak of the yoghurt drink Dutch Mill on August 17. Velasco was enraged to find the substance when her child almost finished the drink. She demanded an explanation from the manufacturers regarding the incident.
Some netizens like Joel Torres Oczon commented that since the main ingredient of the drink was yogurt, there were live microbacteria that could contaminate the drink even if it wasn’t suppose to expire yet. The substance may have been a result of the drink not being refrigerated as advised.

Five days after the post, Velasco thanked netizens who posted advice about what she uploaded. She also defended herself saying she did not write the post to get money from the manufacturer Dairy Plus Co., Ltd. Thailand and the importer Monde Nissin Corp. nor did they have time to make up stories to ruin the companies’ reputations. Lastly, she was satisfied with the results of her child’s lab test and that Monde Nissin had already gotten in touch with her regarding the matter. She even thanked Monde Nissin for not ignoring her complaint and her demand for an explanation.
Velasco left a some advice to those who were fond of drinking ready-to-drink milk products from tetra paks, saying it is always best to transfer the pak’s contents into a glass before consuming to ensure the safety of the drinker.

As of this writing, neither Dairy Plus Co., Ltd. nor Monde Nissin have released a statement regarding the issue.
