Grilled meat and spice rubs
Grilled meat is such a mouth-watering treat.
However, burnt meat, especially its fat, release carcinogens which cause cancer, even heart diseases. When meat is cooked over high heat, some of its fat forms a compound called malondialdehyde, the bad guy on grilled meats. The good news is, we have herbs and spices that goes along really well with grilled meat. It turns out that pairing meat with herbs and spices can significantly reduce concentrations of this evil malondialdehyde because the antioxidants in the spices neutralize it.
Findings even confirm a 71 percent reduction of this substance when burgers cooked with an antioxidant-rich spice blend including oregano, rosemary, black pepper, paprika and garlic were tested. Perfect!
