“Patutuwadin niyo sa harap ng mga tao, at itatapat pa ng camera sa mga pwetan ng mga dancers niyo at sa pwet ni Anne. Nasaan ang respeto niyo sa mga babae? This is not even moral anymore. ‘Di ko alam kung bakit wala pang aksyon ang MTRCB dito [You make her bend over in front of the audience and even have the camera zoom in on Anne’s and the dancers’ behinds. This is not even moral anymore. Where is the respect for women? I don’t know why the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) hasn’t made any actions against this],” she said.
Unfortunately, twerking has been labelled a sexy dance. Even more tragic in the situation is that more young children are believing this is the right way to act.
Laroco noted the very high number of young children being involved in sex, drugs, clubbing, drinking, and other acts that some consider as vices. Not to mention the skimpy outfits many girls wear when they go out. She lamented on the fact that children these days are way too liberated and fall for what they see on social media and the internet.
Artists, teen stars, and such should be role models because people look up to them. They have the power to be seen and be heard.
Laroca said this issue, though, was neither Ella’s nor Anne’s fault.
“They’re just used for business. Kasalanan ‘to ng p*****inang media. Nice job, ABS-CBN. Kung nagfa-flop ang ratings niyo, ‘wag niyong idaan sa literal na pagbebenta ng mga artista niyong babae [They’re just used for business. This is the f*cking media’s fault. If your ratings are going down, don’t sexualize your female artists.],” Laroca said.
Many netizens admired Laroca for bravely voicing out her opinion despite the fact many young women her age are into the sex, drugs, clubbing, drinking, and the like that she mentioned. They too voiced their concerns of how the youth grow up too fast nowadays and should take the time to be children again.
