Oh, for the love of Jag! In a daring escape that took days of planning, two kindergarteners dug their way out of school and made a break for the nearby luxury cars showroom to try and get their grubby, little hands on a Jaguar sports car.
According to local news reports, the two five-year-old boys—who are attending kindergarten in the city of Magnitogorsk in Russia—apparently used a couple of digging spades purloined from the school’s sand lot. After preparing for several days, the two saw their chance when their class had a supervised walk of the school grounds. Slipping away from the group, the two crawled into the hole they dug under the school fence and walked two kilometers to the automobile showroom.
The duo’s attempt to procure a coveted car was foiled, however, when they realized they had no money on them. Luckily, a woman driving down the street noticed the two children. A little concerned after seeing that two small boys were walking around without an adult companion, she asked what the kids were doing there. When she found out that they had escaped from school, she quickly drove them over to the local police station.
It took about half an hour for the school staff to notice the boys’ absence. Local educational authorities, meanwhile, considered the incident a very serious violation and responded by firing the school supervisor in charge of the children. The children’s parents, on the other hand, did not file any complaints against the school.
Reports remain unclear as to what model Jaguar the kids wanted to buy.
