Netizen Timmy C. Diagone shared a heartbreaking story of how his friend failed to speak to her mother before she died because it took them more than an hour to get to the hospital.
Diagone accompanied his friend to get to a hospital along Reliance EDSA from Cubao. It usually takes just 15 minutes to get there, but in this case, it took an hour and 27 minutes because of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) rally clogging the streets. As they walked along Ortigas and EDSA, they had to squeeze their way through the crowd.
When they asked the protesters if they could pass through, they explained that they had to get to the hospital so his friend to speak to her mother one last time. One woman simply replied, “So what?”
“We were shocked. We didn’t expected (sic) it [to be] so bad. I thought this religion knows GOD, knows what is kindness and respect. More importantly, I thought they know what is the feeling of LOSING,” Diagone said in his post.
Because it took a long time for them to reach the hospital, they were too late. Diagone’s friend never got to speak to her mother for the last time.
Despite his anger and sadness, Diagone still found it in his heart to respect the members of INC.
“To the INC brothers out there, We (sic) love you. We respect and support your cause. We hope and pray that it will be resolved ASAP. I just also hope that, you could do something, like a good measure for other religions, other people who pass by,” he wrote in his post.
Even though the rally is now over and people are trying to resume their daily routines, some things will never be the same again.
Just recently, a woman shared the story of how a man failed to give his child a birthday treat because they were caught in traffic caused by the rally.

These are just two of the sad stories of innocent citizens who were affected by something they had nothing to do with in the first place. While most understand what the INC is fighting for, incidents like this could have been avoided if they had done it in a peaceful and respectful way, the way other religions respected their actions.
