How would you want to receive a blessing from a religious authority? In the case of some devotees, the blessing comes with a bit of pain.

A video of a monk hitting devotees over the head with a huge object recently went viral on social media, gaining over 78,000 views as of this posting.

The short clip shows religious followers approaching the monk in reverence. The monk dips the broom-like object into a huge bowl before smacking the devotees on their head. Despite the blow, people did not seem hurt at all.

The monk continued to hit everyone he saw, even those who were just there to watch.
