It is true that cancer has claimed millions of lives across the world, but there are also millions who have survived and lived to tell the tale of how they were able to overcome the hardships of this difficult battle. These survivors serve as an inspiration to those who have been recently diagnosed or have been battling the big C for a long time.
This is where a boy named Noah comes in. The seven-year-old boy has faced a lot of hardships in his young life as a cancer patient yet it is quite admirable that even as he battles the condition, he is still able to smile. His life might have been difficult and painful, yet this brave young boy did not let that get him down.
And wouldn’t you know it? Noah is now free of cancer! His “before and after cancer” photo was used by the Children’s Cancer Center in their campaign. It came with a slogan, “His Children’s Cancer team never gave up – and neither did Noah.”
The touching photo, though used as a poster in the cancer center’s ad, quickly went viral as the smiling boy touched the lives of many people. It shows that there is hope.
This is not to give false hope to those terminally ill patients who are on their deathbeds that they might still be cured. Instead, it provides hope for anyone who is facing any kind of struggle. It shows that there is hope even in the darkest moments of life; there is hope as long as there is a living breath left in our bodies.
Just like Noah, let’s stay positive and hope that our problems and struggles will be behind us soon.
“Hope is like a road in the country; there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence.” – Lin Yutang
