One teenager faced the anger of her family, her boyfriend as well as the internet community when it was discovered that she had faked her pregnancy. Netizens from Michigan and across the US who sent in donations when she said she was going to have triplets were understandably upset.
When the teenager, who was not be named, announced her pregnancy, her boyfriend Jordan was scared to face the responsibility, but later worked a few extra jobs so he could support his baby. His mother, Krissy Wyrabkiewicz, was not happy with the news, but later warmed up to the idea of having a grandchild.
She lost the baby at six weeks, reports AOL.com. Unsure of what to do next and how to break the news to her family and her boyfriend, she decided to pretend the miscarriage never happened. With stuff from Fake a Baby prank store, she was able to carry on with the farce.
Everyone was excited to learn she was carrying triplets, not knowing the pregnancy was now fake. The girl even posted about her triplets on a Facebook group, Moms of Triplets, where she also gained a lot of support.
Various people across the web helped her out; even throwing her a grand baby shower where she received so many gifts and donations that she was not able to open all the presents.
A lot of people, especially her boyfriend, began to suspect that something was wrong when her due date arrived and she began to make various excuses for not giving birth yet. She would later tell her boyfriend lies about her “micro-preemies” whom doctors said had to spend more time in her tummy instead of the incubator so they will have a better chance of survival.
Tracy Matthews, a member of Moms of Triplets, soon traced the girl’s posted triplet ultrasound photos to the Fake a Baby site. She told Jordan’s family who then reported the girl to authorities. The teenager confessed that she lost the baby at six weeks and that she faked her pregnancy because she was afraid to tell people she was not pregnant anymore.
The authorities are now studying what charges to file against the teenager, especially because she received a lot of donations because of her triplet pregnancy.
