Two kids donate their scalps to save their father

The love of children for their parents knows no bounds. Just like what these two kids did to save their ailing father’s life.

Last August, a Chinese man named Wang Xiyong was struck by an arc light from high-tension cables, which resulted in burns over 91 percent of his body.

Over the last two months, the father of two underwent three skin grafts. However, it wasn’t enough to cover all his injuries.

Even with financial donations and limited compensations from the local electrical power department, their family’s resources were running out because of the mounting medical bills. To make matters worse, the doctor called Li Changmei, Wang’s wife, on September 16 telling her that her husband urgently needed more skin grafts to survive. Knowing it would be expensive, the doctor suggested the most economical and safest option—to transplant their children’s scalps onto their father. He reassured her that the children’s skin would soon grow back. But Li refused to do it, thinking it was too cruel to make that choice.

With time running out for her husband, Li was left with no other option but to turn to their eight-year-old son and six-year-old daughter. To her surprise, they both said “yes” to helping their father without hesitation.

Last week, their father received the scalps. According to CCTVNews, he could feel much love when thinking of their two very young offspring who endured as much pain as he did to save his life.

Several netizens were moved by what the kids did. Others even praised them for their love and dedication to their father saying, “No doubt they are still very young, yet they know what [a] father’s love is.”
