A 33-year-old man from London shared his horrifying ordeal after being bitten by a venomous spider in his parent’s home.
According to Sunil Dade, he was collecting dried clothes from the clotheslines in his parent’s back garden when he suddenly felt “a pain like thunderbolt.”
“I started shaking, my legs, my arms, uncontrollably. I ran into the house crying and shouting for my younger brother Sandeep, who’s 25, to help me,” he said.
Apparently, the excruciating pain was caused by a venomous false widow spider which his younger brother found dead on his sweatshirt. Dade immediately squeezed out all the poison, but a huge portion of his skin turned black around the bite area.
Initially, he tried to ignore the burning sensation but eventually went to see a doctor the next day. He was given antibiotics but his skin continued to turn black and began peeling off which lasted for days.
A week after the spider attack, the blackened skin peeled off yet the affected area was still a raw red. Moreover, Dade is still experiencing difficulty in sleeping and turning his head. He is still unable to work as a plumber since the attack.
“I wasn’t scared of spiders before—but I am now. I’ve broken two vertebrae before in an accident, I’ve been stung by a bee—they were nothing compared to this, it was a million times worse. It was like I’d been struck by lightning,” Dade revealed.
