Kimberly Cambanilla, an employee of Cebu Pacific, decided to defend herself against a passenger who blamed her for a missed flight.

On Twitter, netizen Zigcarlo Dulay posted an image of Cambanilla’s employee ID with the caption: “Dahil kay ate di kami nakattend sa screening namen sa Isabela.@CebuPacificAir pakitanggal si Kimberly Cambanilla.

Through a Facebook post that went viral, Cambanilla explained her side of the story as to why Dulay failed to board the specific flight.

According to Cambanilla, Dulay, who was a passenger of flight 5j196, approached her at 9:06 am. Since the flight was scheduled to leave at 9:20 am, Cambanilla asked the flight controller if they could still accommodate Dulay for the said flight.

Emphasizing that she exerted all efforts to be able to include Dulay in the flight, Cambanilla explained that she was just following procedures. With only 14 minutes left before departure, it was impossible for Cambanilla to accommodate Dulay’s request to board the flight.

Dahil ginagawa ko lang ang trabaho ko at imposibleng di niya nakita kung ano ang mga ginawa ko para maihabol siya.”

( I was simply doing my job and it’s impossible that he didn’t see everything I did just to have him included in the flight.)

According to Cebu Pacific, guests are allowed to check in 3 hours up to 45 minutes before departure. Web check-in guests are expected to be at the boarding gate 30 minutes before departure.
