Perhaps the most hated group that conspired with Japanese during the World War II, MAKAPILI members are best remembered for covering their faces with bamboo baskets which had holes for their eyes. Members of the group would point out Filipinos suspected of guerrilla activity who were later subjected to torture and execution.
