Surabao, who was a servant of a Spanish encomiendero, betrayed his countrymen by taking part in the Tondo Conspiracy of 1587. After learning that Magat Salamat and other plotters were conspiring to defeat the Spanish forces, Surabao immediately informed his master about the plan. Salamat and other co-conspirators were executed.
