Everything had been prepared for the grand wedding of Landon Borup and Quinn Duane at the luxurious Citizen Hotel in Sacramento, California. But just a week before the big day, the groom suddenly got cold feet and announced the cancellation of the wedding.
Having already paid for an extravagant $35,000-reception, the bride’s family thought it was a shame to let all the good food go to waste so they continued with the feast, only this time they invited the city’s homeless as guests.
Some netizens pointed out that the family could have invited the original party guests to somehow “repay” them for the trouble they probably had undergone for the wedding. In answer to this, the would-be bride’s mother Kari Duane said she knows that the party would have been more painful had it been the case.
And so, Kari announced that the reception would be held for the city’s homeless. Though Quinn did not attend the event and chose to stay at home, both Kari and her husband were there to personally welcome their guests.
The groom’s actions were puzzling to the family as Landon had gone to great lengths to win Quinn’s heart and to unite the family even before he asked for her hand in marriage. In fact, Landon proposed to Quinn in front of both their families while they were enjoying a meal to celebrate Easter this year.
Whatever reason Landon had to call off the wedding, let’s just hope he and Quinn can work it out.
As for the almost newlyweds’ non-refundable trip to Belize, Quinn and Kari went on a holiday there instead.
