Disappointed netizen rants about BDO Customer Service

Singer Mike Chan posted a status on Facebook last November 19, 2015 about his disappointing experience while transacting with BDO Unibank, Inc., commonly known as Banco de Oro or BDO. He was trying to withdraw over-the-counter from another branch, since his home branch was closed due to the holidays.

He said in his post, “Really BDO?? You find ways???? Tama ba to…. (Is this right?) I had to go to BDO Greenhills today to withdraw cash since my home branch was closed because of the holidays. They told me I had to pay P100 since I was withdrawing at a different branch even though it was still BDO. Fine, so I pay 100 pesos. When the teller was making the transaction, I realized I needed extra money and I told her I was going to add the withdrawal. ‘Sir, hindi na po pwede kasi napindot ko na yung Enter. Kailangan niyo ulit mag bayad ng another 100.’ (Sir, you are not allowed to make an additional withdrawal transaction because I already hit the enter key. You need to pay another Php 100.) I asked to speak to the branch manager Ms. IRISH JAVIER to explain to her that I already paid and just needed to change the amount I needed to withdraw. Hindi na daw pwede kasi hindi na ma rereverse yung transaction. (They said no since they could not reverse the transaction.)

Mike then recounted a transaction where the teller made a mistake with his account. He added, “Last month in BDO Eastwood, their teller made a wrong entry on my passbook napasobra yung deposit. After I left they called me in a panic and asked me to come back so I can sign a document TO REVERSE THE TRANSACTION! If not ma-chacharge daw yung teller. So I went back and signed. SO KUNG TELLER NIYO NAGKAMALI YOU CAN REVERSE THE TRANSACTION?? Kung customer niyo for over 10 years ilang segundo lang nakalipas hindi na pwede ma reverse yung transaction. Yung ‘We find ways’ ninyo Branch Manager Ms Irish Javier ano ba yun???? (So if your teller makes the mistake, you can reverse the transaction? But if your customer for over 10 years has a transaction that is just a few seconds old you can’t reverse the transaction? Your slogan ‘We Find Ways’ Branch Manager Ms. Irish Javier, what does it mean?) Is that just an empty slogan to you???? Tama ba na mas may malasakit pa customer niyo sa teller niyo kesa kayo sa customer niyo?” (Is it right that your customers have more sympathy for your tellers than you have for your customers?)

As of this writing, BDO has yet to release an official statement regarding this incident.
