Most public bathrooms are filthy, smelly, and basically disgusting. After all, all manner of people—and toilet habits—use the facilities. But Beijing’s new high-tech public restrooms may just change your perception about them.
To celebrate World Toilet Day, a cutting edge restroom facility called The Fifth Space was unveiled in Beijing. Equipped with Wi-Fi, vending machines, flat screen TVs, ATM machines as well as a charging station for an electric scooter, the next-generation public bathroom is located in front of the government offices of the Fangshan District.
The one-of-a-kind public toilet has 11 different sections including male and female toilets, unisex toilet, baby-changing facilities, an ATM room, and an e-commerce area.
More than providing a clean and comfortable facility, each toilet or urinal has a flat-screen TV to keep users entertained.
Toilet users can pay their utility bills using a multipurpose phone. They can even buy drinks from vending machines.
The family-friendly public bathroom has a miniature toilet and a diaper changing room for your little ones.
While answering the call of nature, users can have their electric scooters charged outside.
Need cash? The luxurious public toilet has ATM machines for your needs.
