THROWBACK: Before Alma Moreno, there was Ara Mina’s awkward interview with DJ Mo Twister

Before senatorial aspirant Alma Moreno became an Internet sensation for her infamous awkward interview with Headstart host Karen Davila, there was Ara Mina.

Back in 2010, actress Ara Mina was slammed by netizens after her political interview with DJ Mo Twister made the rounds on the Internet. At the time the video went viral, the sexy actress was running for councilor in the second district of Quezon City.

Unfortunately for Ara Mina, the controversial video, which put her in a bad light, allegedly influenced Quezon City constituents not to vote for her.

During her In My Opinion interview, DJ Mo asked Ara Mina if she is “for” or “against” certain issues which included private armies and premarital sex.

Watch her infamous interview that earned the criticism of netizens.

Speaking to Pep.ph, Ara Mina called the viral video as part of a campaign against her. The 36-year-old actress even defended her answers to the questions.

Hindi tama at hindi dapat na maging basis ang iisang interview para malaman kung magiging mabuting public servant ba ang isang tao. We all have off days, we all make mistakes. Wala namang perpekto. Pero yung husgahan ako, yung ikalat ang video na pinutol-putol after a month, yung i-upload at gawing campaign against me… Di ba, mali naman? Di ba, unfair naman? Again, di ko sinabi na napakatalino o napakagaling ko, pero alam ko ang ginagawa ko, malinis ang hangarin ko at kung isyu at isyu lang, may sagot ako,” she said.

(It’s not right to make one interview the basis if a person is going to be a good public servant. We all have off days, we all make mistakes. No one is perfect. But to judge me and spread the video which was cut and edited after a month and then upload it and turn into a campaign against me. Isn’t that wrong? Isn’t that unfair. Again, I didn’t say that I’m very smart, but I know what I’m doing. I have good motives and I have answers for issues.)
