A 42-year-old woman decided to teach her cheating husband a lesson he would never forget.
While Craig Arnolds was away on a business trip to New York for two weeks, his wife Laura took the opportunity to sell their Nuneaton property without his knowledge.
Laura discovered that her 44-year-old husband had been fooling around with another woman after Craig accidentally left his iPhone 6 at home. Laura was shocked to see steamy messages from an American woman on her spouse’s phone.
To get even, Laura took drastic measures by selling their house on www.sellhousefast.uk. Within a fortnight, the family home was sold for a cut-price figure to students from the University of Warwick.
Apparently, Laura had all the right to sell the house because her parents shouldered the mortgage after they experienced financial difficulties.
Upon returning to his now former home, Craig was shocked to find unusual things in his home such as a Nissan Micra parked in the driveway. He also noticed that the TV and all the lights were on.
“I remember thinking it was really out of character for Laura to be up past 11 pm. I had no idea what on earth was going on,” he said.
Confused and freaked out, Craig began banging on the door while shouting his wife’s name. It was only after a 21-year-old hippie emerged from the house that the ugly truth dawned on him.
Aside from the terrible reality that his former family home was sold behind his back, Craig was stunned to discover that his most prized possessions including chairs and tables from his late father, a set of golf clubs, as well as a vintage radio were included in the sale.
“I was very annoyed at first but life is too short to dwell on these things and I made the decision that for the children’s sake, we should stop the hostilities there,” he said.
