The unwavering faith of Filipinos is evident especially during Christmas time. One of the country’s most popular traditions, the Misa de Gallo, is attended by millions of Filipinos. Take for example the residents of Barangay Bebe Anac in Masantol, Pampanga. Even if their chapel and the whole barangay is under floodwaters, the residents still continue to hear the Simbang Gabi.
On December 22, 2015, Facebook Page CLTV36 posted photos of the residents in Barangay Bebe Anac attending mass inside a flooded chapel. The post immediately went viral with over 12,000 reactions and over 2,000 shares as of this writing.
Facebook netizens praised the residents of Barangay Bebe Anac and said that they will pray for them and their barangay. One netizen said that faith can move mountains and problems can be comforted by prayers.
In October 2015, 41 barangays from seven towns in Pampanga were under floodwaters due to Typhoon Lando, including Barangay Bebe Anac. The communities located at the base of the Pampanga Delta Development Project dike became flooded.
