A few lucky individuals are gifted with natural talent. There are those born with uncanny athletic ability, a God-given voice that could rival those of the angels themselves, and there are those gifted with an effortless ability to understand math or an affinity for the arts. Gerard Jessie is not one of these people. Instead, what he has is a lot of gas. He, though, has found a rather unique way to put this flatulence to good use.
A video of a prone Jessie putting out five lit candles with his bodily eruptions has gone viral. The unsung hero, however, is that guy assisting Jessie, dutifully holding the candles against Jessie’s billowing buttocks. You have nostrils of steel, good sir.
Record Setter, the YouTube channel hosting Jessie’s video, and a whole bunch of other websites have proclaimed Jessie as a world-record holder for the feat, but apparently, the claim might be dubious.
Website metro.co.uk quotes a spokesperson from Guinness World Records as saying, “I just went through our database and this record is not recognized as a Guinness World Records title.”
Maybe next time, Jessie needs to ring up official representatives from Guinness to record his act, and not just his drinking buddies. Can’t really blame the reps for being reluctant to witness Jessie’s abilities, though. Unless they could bring a gas mask along.
