Prior to winning the Magnum Foundation Human Rights Fellows, Bacani served as a domestic helper for 10 years. Her experience inspired her to come up with documentary photos that showed “the conditions of domestic workers facing human rights issues.” Forbes magazine cited the 29-year-old photographer for her black and white photos revealing Hong Kong street life.
4. Koh Martinez Konozawa
The anthropology major from Cebu is the CEO and co-founder of Loud Basstard, a company that creates music amplifiers made of bamboo. Earning an average monthly revenue of $20,000, Loud Basstard has included hybrid speakers in its product line and will soon be launching in the US.
