4) Standing up for Transparency and Good Governance. After getting elected as Congresswoman in 2013, on the very first day of the 16th Congress, Robredo filed her first bill. It was the Full Disclosure Bill, which would require all elected officials and government agencies to fully disclose any transactions, documents, and budgets. What more, these files would be accessible by the public, and not just the media.
5) Caring for the marginalized. Her three years of being a Congresswoman saw Robredo authoring 37 House Bills, most of them focusing on rural development and the empowerment of women and other marginalized sectors of society. These bills include the Anti-discrimination Bill of 2013, People’s Participation in Budget Deliberation Bill, People Empowerment Bill of 2014, National Food Security Bill of 2015, and the Freedom of Information Bill.
6) Chairing for the marginalized. Robredo is also an active member of various committees in Congress including the Welfare of Children, Women and Gender Equality, People’s Participation, Human Rights, Public Information, Rural Development, Suffrage and Electoral Reforms. She is also serving as the Senior Vice Chair of the Committee on Revision of Laws and Vice Chair of the Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.
