The netizens had lost faith in humanity once again after reading Burn Casano Celestial’s post last March 3, 2017.
She shared that while they were on their way to the Cagbalete Island’s sand bar, they saw a dog walking along with them to the same direction. It was concluded that this poor dog was stabbed because the knife was still attached to its ribs. What’s more saddening is that nobody has tried to remove the knife and offer some medical treatment to the animal.

After learning what happened to the dog, Celestial had tried to reach out to animal organizations to ask for assistance regarding the condition of the dog, but many of them just shook the matter.
According to her post, “While on our way to the sandbar at the rightmost part of the island (facing the beach), we saw this dog walking in the same direction. We noticed something. We got startled having found out that it was a knife (a tribal knife) still stabbed in its rib, dangling as the dog moves. Too bad, we weren’t able to keep an eye on the dog when we reached the sandbar.
On my way back to our tent post, I saw this group of kids who stopped by and called my attention for a “Hi” and “Hello”. The short convo goes, and I told them about this stabbed dog only to realize I was talking to its owner. He just knew about it the moment I told them abt the dog’s condition.

According to this kid(owner), his dog was already shot twice before by an improvised gun, using marbles as its bullets. (Do not misinterpret the kid’s face, he felt too embarrassed when he caught me videoing him)
Wondering if this dog has more lives than a cat. As you can see in the picture, it looks like the dog was used as a dart board, pagpractice-an ba ang aso?!! Why humans?!
**For those who are asking, YES, I did my part. I have asked for help, any help that they can provide for this poor dog. Sadly, they didn’t respond the way I expect them to respond. None of them cared a bit, and none of them asked for more information about this dog. They just shrugged it off then went back to their business. What can I do more? All I can do is to spread the news and ask for anyone’s help to reach anyone who has more power to offer assistance/help. Then, I sent an e-mail to Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) asking for any support they can give. It is not much that I can do, but it is the least that I can do for now. This is not just about posting for the sake of posting. Please help. A little help won’t hurt.
I’m actually hating people right now. They (domestic animals) deserve to be loved and taken cared of.”
Thousands of pet lovers reacted to her post and had spread the news to ask from help from any concerned animal organizations who’s willing to provide treatment for the dog.
Recently, Celestial posted an update and said, “Just an update. Didn’t expect this would reach this far. I’ve been talking to a lot of people already for days now, regarding this poor dog in Cagbalete Island. I’m working with someone from DPWH who’s a member of the B.E.R.T. Berlin Emergency Rescue Team (To Save and Protect Animals), Ms Susan M. Espinosa. We have no contacts from there, and have no other way to find out about the current condition of the dog.
May I request for anyone who’ll be visiting the island to leave me a message or comment to this post if you happen to see the dog or the kid (Randolph), or any contact details that you may have from anyone in the island? Please.. Thank you in advance! Hoping for a positive response!”
Dogs should be cherished and loved no matter what breed it may have. Pets in general, show their loyalty and worth only to someone who’s deserving of their affection.
