After winning Miss Universe-Bulgaria’s pageant gown two months ago, the 15-year-old Zyra Nicole Cifra finally got to wear it for her prom.
The famous shimmering blue gown of Miss Bulgaria, Violina Ancheva, was designed by Sherri Hill. The teen was handpicked by the beauty queen herself, and the gown was given after the Miss Universe 2016 pageant.
On March 11, Ancheva proudly posted an Instagram photo of her wearing the gown alongside with Zyra channeling her inner beauty queen.
The Bulgarian beauty is enchanted to see her gown being put to good use and shared how she is very happy because the gown fits Zyra.
The post was captioned, “Today is a big day for me! It’s Zyra’s prom – the beautiful Filipina that was chosen to wear the dress I was wearing on Miss Universe pageant! I am so excited! Good luck, Zyra! Bulgaria loves [the] Philippines.”
Breaking Through The Harsh Words
The youngster responded and expressed her gratefulness to the beauty queen. But despite her sweet message, she got bullied by some netizens. Some felt that she did not deserve the gown, but was defended right away by Ancheva herself.
On a Facebook post, Zyra said, “I feel so blessed because of this lucky charm gown of Miss Bulgaria Violina Ancheva. I will always cherish the memorable experiences and I thank God for everything. Words can’t describe how grateful I am. Thank you so much to everyone who made my prom a magical night. I love you all!!”
Ancheva then shared a video message to CNN Philippines, relating to her gratefulness for the teen. She also hoped that she was able to inspire more people to share what they have with others. She wishes to come back in the Philippines, which she considers her second home.
It is remembered that before Ancheva left the country, she decided to pass her Sherri Hill gown to a girl who is about to attend her prom. From thousands of applicants, she personally chose Zyra and decided that she is the one.
Few hours before leaving the airport, the management of the queen was able to arrange a meeting with Zyra and her family.
It was a dream come true, indeed for Zyra.
The teen and her prom was featured in a news with TV5.
