This 3-year-old Irish setter, Romy, surprised its owners, Natasha and Alicia, after giving birth to 15 puppies! Yes, you read that right! Can you believe that?
Natasha, a licensed veterinarian from the West Midlands was more than prepared when her dog got pregnant for the very first time in December of 2016.
Prior to Romy’s labor, Natasha performed an ultrasound for her dog. She and Alicia were sure that they are expecting eight to nine puppies. They were not surprised because the average puppies Irish setters deliver is nine.
Romy had only a little experiences when it comes to motherhood, so when her firstborn came out, she’s uncertain. Her parents, Alicia and Natasha, did not leave her side all throughout the labor.
10-hour Labor
During that 10-hour labor, they were shocked because they thought that she will stop giving birth after her 9th puppy. They were prepared to clean up until the 10th baby came out, and then suddenly the 9 puppies turned to 15.
“We kept thinking, when is she going to stop?” Natasha said in a statement for The Sun.
Cater News, on the other hand, created a video for Romy and her owners.
