This Girl Suffered from Dysmenorrhea Every Month; What the Doctor Found in Her will Shock You!

  • Jasmine Gabriel often experienced intense dysmenorrhea every month since her teenage years.
  • When she decided to go and see a doctor, it turns out that she has fibroid tumors.

Every woman experiences dysmenorrhea or menstrual pain each month. Usually, it doesn’t become a hindrance to their day-to-day routines but for a few, their cramps get worse to the point when they can no longer stand and do their usual activities.

Some says that menstrual pain shouldn’t be treated with any medicine, but rather drink with lots of water instead. Indeed, it might be a better option, but what if water won’t suffice to eliminate the pain?

A Facebook user named Jasmine Gabriel, shared an eye-opening post on her account recently. She told the story of how her simple period pain escalated to something life-threatening.

Read her story below:

For those of you who know me, you know that I have had painful and horrible periods every month since the 6th grade. I knew the intensity and pain was not normal but I just took the pain. In college, I finally got tired of it and made an appointment at the OBGYN. I explained to her what was happening. She did an ultrasound and told me I had fibroid tumors but not to worry. So because she wrote it off, so did I.

Well fast forward to present, over the past couple of months, I noticed my cramps became more intense and my periods started lasting 2 weeks. So I made an appointment to go see the doctor because I knew something wasn’t right.”

Gabriel shared that when she was convinced to seek medical help, fibroid tumors were found after her ultrasound. Her doctor said not to worry, and so she did.

However, after a couple of months, her situation got worse. The pain became excruciating, and her period occurred for a duration of two weeks – which is certainly not normal.

The tumors had grown so big that they displaced my cervix and uterus. He told me I had to have surgery asap.

Well yesterday morning, I had that surgery (Myomectomy) to remove those tumors. I am so happy to say that I’m finally relieved of this horrible burden and I’m on the road to recovery.

It turns out that she really should be worried in the first place. The orange-colored tumor had grown and multiplied sine she didn’t receive any kind of treatment in the last few months.

Here’s Gabriel’s message to all women:

Ladies, please listen to your body. If you feel like something isn’t right, get it checked out. He said if I would of waited one more month, I wouldn’t be able to have children. I’m glad I listened to my body and got the surgery because as a women, it’s so very important for me to have a family of my own. Thank you everyone for all the love and support especially to my friends, family and TUCVM C/O 2019 love you all.”

Other Facebook users who have read her post were alarmed and worried by how her simple dysmenorrhea transformed into different sizes of tumors.

Just like what Gabriel said, a person should be wary of unusual occurrences in their own body to be able to prevent risks that might put their lives on the line. Everyone should have themselves checked annually to detect any illness and treat it as early as possible.
