Random Stuff, a page on Facebook, initially posted the pictures of this James Reid doppelganger and it instantly created a buzz on social media. Credits to Valerie Peralta Samonte who took the photos while she was on her way home.
According to the post, Samonte rode a jeep home from SM City Marilao and did not expect what she saw. Described as ‘Nakasabay ko sa jeep, ang pogi. Kahawig ni James Reid’, Samonte was really starstruck.
She admitted that she even fell deeper when he smiled. Wanting to have her picture taken with this look-a-like, she failed, unfortunately.
James Reid look-a-like speaks up!
In an interview with the LionhearTV, the guy who allegedly resembles the box-office star, James Reid is Kean Antonio, an Advertising and Public Relations student at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Manila.
Originally from San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, he said that he was also on his way home when Samonte took photos of him.
His point of view
When asked if he sees himself as a James Reid look-a-like, he said, “Actually, I [don’t think I have] any resemblances [with] James Reid. But as time goes by, my friends started to tell me na ‘Hala hawig mo si James Reid’. Hindi ako naniwala kasi James Reid ‘yun. Idol ko nga ‘yun e. Pero right now, [I am] starting [to embrace] yung fact na ganon.”
Humbly, he thanks all those who supported him and rescued him from the bashers. After going viral, he admitted that he actually have fans now, and he is very thankful to them.
“Sa mga supporters? Sobrang sweet [and] supportive nila. Sobrang cute at ma-effort sila sa pag sesend ng messages, pictures, portraits, sobrang [overwhelmed] ako. Mahal ko sila sobra.”
Lastly, when asked how bashers affect him, he simply answers,
“Haters gonna hate, simple. Ayoko mag-paapekto.”
It’s still an ongoing battle for some if he really looks like James Reid, but we want to hear from you guys. What do you think?
