Pink Pineapples Do Really Exist Now!
Although you might think this as a scam, they are 100% true! Photos of pink pineapples have been conquering the internet, especially Instagram.
As you would know, this new breed is obviously genetically modified.
FDA approves
But according to NBC News, the FDA approves this new fruit and is actually ‘safe for sale’. In a report in December, FDA explained,
“[They] simply have some genes toned down to keep the flesh of the fruit pinker and sweetened. [Del Monte] submitted information to the agency to demonstrate that the pink flesh pineapple is as safe and nutritious as its conventional counterparts.”
Here’s the catch
Everything has two sides, right? Unfortunately, there’s no official news yet as to when or where you can actually buy this pink pineapple.
