Kitchen crews know how hard it is to maintain cleanliness in their workplace, especially when there are a lot of customers – which usually happens during meal time.
Businesses make it a point to hire more crews inside the kitchen or by being strict to their operational policies to ensure that the workplace is spotless and organized – which is the main key to be able to prepare the food well.
However, there are some instances when a store fails to perform sanitary practices due to various reasons.
A customer named Heidylene De Guzman Nicabera shared an unexpected incident on her Facebook account after discovering a hair inside the best-seller burger of Angels Burger. The original post was deleted, but it was reposted by a Facebook page named Boyfriend.
Her post instantly went viral since the burger was quite popular for its taste and for its trademark.
“Hindi sana namin to ipo post kaso sa ginawa ng tindera ng angels burger nakakabastos na sabihin samin na KAMI ANG NAGLAGAY ng kung ano man ang nasa picture na to. Kami pa ang naging masama. Siguro sa sobrang busy nya sa cellphone kakanood hindi niya napansin yung nahalo sa patty na niluluto nya.”
According to Nicabera, she was supposedly going to let this incident slip, but decide to change her mind after the vendor said that she purposefully put hair on her own food.
“At ang panget dun hindi pa nya pinalitan saka hinayaan na lang nya na ganun. Saka kung kami yung naglagay nun ano mapapala namin ?? FAVORITE ko dati ang burger sa angels pero sa nangyaring to hinding hindi na ko bibili dahil sa hindi nila pag ayos ng product nila.”
The very reason that disappointed her is the fact that the seller didn’t even bother to offer her a replacement for the burger.
“Kaya sa mga kaibigan ko at kakilala ko ingat po kayo sa pagkain ng burger. Dahil sa pagkaka survey namin sa mga tao dito HINDI DAW YUN BUHOK NG BABOY kundi BUHOK NG DAGA. kaya ingat ingat po tayo guys. Concern lang po kami dahil baka sakaling ganun din ang mapunta sa inyo.”
Nicabera and her company tried to ask around about what kind of hair was it, and most of them said it seems like it was from a rodent.
“Yung location po nung angels burger na binilhan namin is dito lang sa BUTING PASIG CITY. kayo na po bahala mag share para malaman din po ng iba. Mahirap na kapag nakakain ng ganyan baka ano pa mangyari sa inyo. Yun lang po.”
She said that she only shared this incident for the public’s awareness out of concern and not to ruin the store’s reputation.
However, a lot of netizens say that they do not believe such thing had happened as the brand has been a favorite by many over the past few years.
Whether Nicabera’s experience is real or not, consumers should always be careful where to purchase especially when it is a food product in general. Always make sure to buy from a store which prepares their products properly and hygienically.
