- Maureen Wroblewitz wins Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5
- Nylon Singapore features Maureen Wroblewitz
Who would have thought that the timid and petite girl who first came to the competition with few modeling experiences would win Asia’s Next Top Model? And yes, she is the first Pinay to win the said contest!
Proving them wrong
Maureen Wroblewitz emerges to be the first Pinay to win Asia’s Next Top Model on its fifth installment. You can recall that for the last 4 seasons, we’re just the runners, but now, the title is ours for the taking!
The youngest and smallest contestant has come a long, long way to the finals. From being in the bottom 2 twice to winning best photo thrice, she has dealt with her demons the elegant way. But that’s not all, throughout the competition, she had bashers inside their house. Yes, her competitors became her tormentors. Everyone witnessed the bullying that happened to her.
Despite all the drama that is happening, she managed to stand tall and prove her haters wrong. From week to week, we saw her undeniable growth and improvement as a model. After weeks of gruesome competition, the time has finally arrived. The winner of Asia’s Next Top Model season 5 is none other than the girl who fought her battles.
Judges’ choice
The final panel in which our very own Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach includes has deliberated the final performances of the three finalists–Malaysia’s Shikin Gomez and Vietnam’s Minh Tu Nguyen as the other two finalists.
“That image is exactly what I wanted to see from you at the end of this competition,” Cindy Bishop, the head model/judge for the season said. “You delivered that quiet confidence, which showed that you have been soaking up everything we’ve been telling you, that you’ve been taking everything in and just completely laid it all out for us. And I am so, so happy to see that,” she added.
Prized Winner
Maureen did not only bring home the bacon, but she brought the egg and butter as well. Her win entitled her the coveted contract with London-based Storm Model Management, and a cover spread for Nylon Singapore.
Moreover, she is set to do other high-profile fashion campaigns.
Another Pinoy pride, isn’t she? Way to go, Maureen! We are all so proud of you.
