- Myrel Martinez shared a wonderful experience she got when she rode a UV on a late night all by herself.
- At first, she was worried, but became comfortable after the driver showed her something of his possession.
Nowadays, travelling alone is extremely dangerous as a lot of things may happen both to the passenger and to the driver himself.
During the ride, crimes such as theft, murder or even rape may happen which makes the passengers fearful when they are commuting on their way home. There are instances wherein the driver puts his passengers at risk, while there are also a few occurrences that the driver is the reason why the passenger gets relaxed and confident that nothing bad will happen throughout the whole ride.
A female passenger named Myrel Martinez shared an unexpected post on her Facebook account just recently.
She shared that she was afraid at first, but became relaxed after she had a chat with the driver.
“Grabe talaga pag si God yung nandiyan for us. Kahit ano gagawin maligtas lang tayo sa kapahamakan.
Kanina habang nasa Uv ako, at pauwi na mag-isa lang ako(sanay naman ako mag isa eh). Nakakatakot kasi dalawa lang kaming pasahero, una palang nagpray na ako kasi nga malayo uuwian ko tapos dalawa lang kami, uso pa ngayon yung nakikita ko sa media about sa mga pasahero, so eto yung senario ng pinagusapan namin at kwentuhan. Medyo mahaba pero sana mainspire kayo.”
Martinez shared that she was quite fearful to travel on her own as she is fully aware that there are a lot of crimes that are happening recently.

Ilang taon na ako, saan ako nag-aaral,anong course ko,anong year na ako. At sobrang natuwa ako nung nagkwento na siya. Sinagot ko lahat ng tanong niya. Biglang nagtanong si kuya.
Kuya: hi ate myrel, ikaw ba naisip mo narin na kung nagawa mo na lahat pumasok ba sayo na paano kong mawawala kana sa mundo.
Ako: (nanahimik) hindi ko pa po naiisip yang ganyan (biglang tawa na pabebe) hehe
Biglang may kinuha si kuya, yung nasa picture medyo malabo, isang Bible oo bible at habang nakared ang stoplight may pinabasa siya na verse ng isang bible, super na impress ako kay kuya. After that habang nasa byahe ako nung oras na yun panatag na loob ko na walang mangyayari.”
The driver initiated a small talk between the two of them – which was the reason why her fear lessened. He even showed her a Bible of his possession.
After a little chitchat, the driver suddenly changed the topic into something serious that Martinez didn’t expect at all.
“Kuya: alam mo ba na Accept, Believe and confess lang ang pinto para makapasok sa langit? Oo tanggapin natin, maniwala at magconfess sa kanya para doon tayo mapunta.
Kuya: para naman maiba ang atmosphere mo sa byahe. Alam ko naman na una palang nagdadasal kana para maging safe byahe mo.
Ako: salamat kuya (sabay smile)
Kuya: okay lang ba na sabayan moko magdasal?”
Surprisingly, the driver talked to her about the Almighty. According to him, he wanted to change her feeling when she is travelling; hence, he shared what he knew about the Lord and even encouraged her to pray with him.
“Then ayon nagdadasal siya at sinusundan ko siya habang nasa byahe at nagddrive, ang gaan sa pakiramdam sobra, nakakawalan ng kaba. At nakakagulat kasi meron talagang dahilan si God at gumagawa ng paraan para maging safe tayong lahat. Solid. Salamat kay kuya reggie. Salamat at ginabayan mo byahe ko.

Martinez realized that the man’s name was Reggie. Sure enough, she had a wonderful experience with the ride she had, and the fear she felt earlier was washed away by admiration and a stronger faith.
Her post went viral and reached the relatives of Reggie – who attested that the driver was indeed a good person. Moreover, she also had learned that the same driver has been struggling as his child is in the hospital and will undergo an operation, thus they asked her for prayers.
The netizens who had seen the post was amazed by how faithful Reggie is, despite the struggles he is facing. He also showed that not all drivers are the same and that the good ones still exist.
Indeed, God has a way with everything. If a faithful child is facing a tough time, He provides refuge and does something to ease their worries.
