- Ogie Diaz calls out President Duterte for Rape remarks on Miss Universe
- Celebrity Ogie Diaz shares thoughts on Duterte’s recent rape joke
Duterte’s fondness for Rape Jokes
We can recall several times when President Rodrigo Duterte joked about rape, and how he drew flak from the netizens. However, after getting bashed, he doesn’t seem to mind it. Just recently, during a tourism event in Davao, he drops a dry humor on raping a Miss Universe.
“What I don’t like are kids [getting raped],” Duterte said. “[But] you can mess with–maybe a Miss Universe.” he added.
While everyone in the room shared a brief laughter, his behaviour was way off. He even said that he would even congratulate someone who has the courage to rape a Miss Universe.
Ogie Diaz reacts
After the new ‘joke’ has been brought to the headlines, some personalities cannot help but react. For Ogie Diaz, the joke is a no-no. He posted a lengthy post on his Facebook account asking for people to understand the essence of the issue.
“Kung talagang mahal natin ang Pangulo, iparating natin sa kanya na hindi ginagawang joke ang rape,” he said starting his rant.
The actor-manager pointed out that all of his efforts will be put in vain because of these reckless jokes. He also pointed out the importance of his opinions and how they reflect on someone’s mind.
Tinitingala,” he explained.
Asking for support
He also brought the importance of Duterte’s legal advisers to light.
Natuto na siya dapat doon,” he shared.
And when someone commented that his hasty jokes are not importance and his involvement in our national growth is, Diaz went berserk.
In his message, he also admitted his all-out support to the president during the campaigns.
He encourages the president to joke about other things, and never about rape again.
Ending his statement, he narrated that Duterte should think twice on the words he will say. He has a teenage daughter and for sure, he would want that to happen to her.
