As Essilor Philippines emerges to be one of the top brands for eye care in the country, the company decided to give back to the Filipino community. With this, they created the Essilor Vision Foundation.
EVF, Eye Can Succeed?
Essilor Vision Foundation is a commitment of Essilor in eliminating Filipinos’ poor vision, it eyes to provide the underprivileged people with the opportunity to live a better life through better eyesight. Because, after all, healthy eyesight is essential to the learning and achieving process of everyone.
July is a very special month for the people behind EVF, because it is the month when they finally take the campaign to life. They partnered with the dashing Piolo Pascual to conduct the Eye Can Succeed campaign at the Rizal High School in Pasig City.
Just a fun fact, Rizal High School was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the largest secondary school in the world. Imagine! It is home to at least 10,000 high school students. However, the program was exclusive only to senior high school students.
The Eye Can Succeed campaign in Rizal High School geared and provided eye check-ups and gave away free prescription glasses to Grade 11 and 12 students. If you are thinking about why they focused on the senior high school students, they answered the issue once and for all.
The campaign focused on SHS students because they are, indeed, vulnerable to vision problems. Due to long hours of reading and exposure to harmful gadgets, they tend to damage their eyes. Also, they are at the critical stage of life wherein they are pressured of what career path to choose. EVF and the Eye Can Succeed campaign aims to ease some of their concerns by giving them a key to healthy eye care.
Piolo Pascual on the importance of eye health to education
The long-time ambassador of Essilor Philippines, Piolo Pascual, shared his thoughts about the importance of what Essilor is giving the students.
“Education plays a huge role in the future of these young Filipinos and poor eyesight will only hinder their progress in learning. By giving them thorough eye check-ups and access to free prescription eyeglasses, they will no longer struggle with vision problems in their lessons, allowing their natural intelligence to shine through.”
