- Mangyan hairstylist achieves success through passion
- Nikki Bacay unveils Hairpost Salon
Humble beginnings
Mangyan hairstylist Nikki Bacay rose to fame as he recently unveiled his dream salon, Hair Post in Connecticut, San Juan. It started from a scratch when Nikki went to Manila only to discover his passion in haircutting. Two decades after, here he is, having his own business.
He started to grow bigger when a client saw his potential and was offered an international training to polish his talent. Nikki flew to Hong Kong in 2000 for the Cut and Color training. A year after, he was able to gather few awards under his name. This includes The Loreal Color Trophy and the Philippine Hairdresser of the Year. He never stopped learning.
In 2008, he was chosen to be one of the ambassadors of a German salon brand Schwarzkopf Professional. Nikki has been in and out the country to explore his options and nurture his God-given talent. He was non-stop, travelling through Japan, Taipei, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore to keep him posted with the trendy hairstyles over time.
Great success
All his sacrifices and hard work really paid off. His loyalty to his customers led him to where he is right now. For him, customers deserve only the best, that’s why he prefers using high-end products. He has also mastered the art of hairstyling and contour coloring, a skill that only passionate stylists have.
With over a year of preparation and months of brainstorming, Nikki has officially opened his partnership salon named Hairpost. He co-operates the salon with his good friend Malou Gumapac. As he stepped into greater pastures, he vows to give his clients ‘hair-experience’ that they will never forget. Nikki always make sure that despite their high-end services, their prices are competitive and reasonable.
The launch of the salon was also star-studded. Pinoy Big Brother’s Vivoree Esclito, Heaven Peralejo, Christian Morones supported the event. It was also graced by Aiko Melendez and Jomari Ylana’s son Andrei Yllana and Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s Eumee Capile and Aila Santos.
