Barangay Ginebra San Miguel really knows how to treat its loyal fans as the team’s 2018 Limited Edition Jersey Collection was officially launched on March 21, 2018. Half of the population of the Philippines have seen them triumph, and at the same time, face difficult challenges along the way. Nevertheless, Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel remains hopeful each competition and lives up to their legendary name.
‘Ginebra Ako’
If last year, the theme of the Jersey Collection focused on the rich history of Ginebra, this year, Ginebra San Miguel Inc. wants to present more meaning to it. With the tagline ‘Ginebra Ako’, GSM pays homage to the ‘Never Say Die’ attitude of their established community. GSM wanted to involve the fans more in this collection as they play a big role in the team’s success.
The brand new line signifies the team’s resilience, determination, and perseverance throughout the four decades of playing in the PBA. Aside from the “Ginebra Ako” statement, some of the notable designs embedded on the jersey are the four stars, which represent Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s four-decade stay in the PBA; and the crown, which depicts the team’s domination in both realms of basketball and the hard liquor industry (being the undisputed no. 1 selling gin in the world).
There are also three marks that verify the jersey’s authenticity. First, the Ginebra San Miguel Label Tag, the iconic Ginebra San Miguel label was featured as the tag of every jersey embodies the long-standing heritage and culture the basketball team represents via the product. Second, the Patch of Authenticity with an embroidered signature of none other than the winningest coach in PBA history, Tim Cone, confirms the jersey is 100% authentic. Third, the ‘Never Say Die’ Patch located on the backside of the jersey features the team’s mantra and represents the team’s resilience, which they are popularly known for.
Not only that, these limited edition jerseys will be worn by the team in the upcoming 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup starting April 2018. Imagine?
