SM Supermalls recently celebrated their 60th Anniversary with an #AweSM Launch Party on May 21, Monday at the Mall of Asia. The launch looked back on Henry Sy, Sr.’s first shoe store in Carriedo, Manila in 1958. This lead to 60-themed discounts, deals and sale events from May to October in SM malls nationwide.
SM celebrated six decades of providing awesome experiences for Filipinos. The launch party also gathered the supermall’s partners, tenants and valued stakeholders. Raymond Gutierrez also hosted the #AweSM Launch Party. Tommy Esguerra, Kaila Estrada and Richard Juan, then, walked for SM Youth. Mr. World Philippines 2016 Sam Ajdani also walked for SM Men.
Miss Earth Philippines, Miss Fire Philippines, Miss Water Philippines, Miss Eco-Tourism Philippines and Miss Dumaguete also graced the event. Aside from them, Janeena Chan also walked for SM Woman. Bituin Escalante, Radha and Frenchie Dy, then, performed their own rendition of SM Supermall’s theme song for SM Woman Plus.
SM Supermall’s Chief Operating Officer, Steven Tan, shared a statement how SM became a part of Filipino family lives.
“For six decades, SM has become part of the lives of every Filipino family – from a kid choosing his first pair of school shoes at The SM Store, spending your first paycheck on groceries at SM Markets to treat mom and dad, SMDC enabling a young couple to acquire a home of their own, to sharing a fun weekend with the whole family at SM Supermalls.”
Celebrities such as Bettina Carlos, Fabio Ide, Marlon Stockinger, Joey Mead King, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Xian Lim, Sarah Lahbati, Richard Gutierrez, Anabelle Rama, Ruffa Gutierrez, Denise Laurel, Gerald Anderson and Tim Yap graced the event among others.
Aside from the #AweSM Launch Party, mall kickoff events have been set for mallgoers on May 25, Friday at the SM City Clark, SM City Dasmariñas, SM Seaside City Cebu and SM Lanang Premier. On the weekend of May 25 to May 26, SM will celebrate 60-themed treats with promos. Such as pay only Php60, pay Php60 less or pay only 60%.
