- The OWWA Deputy Executive Director stated that as for now, he just wants to enjoy his new found freedom
Last January 23, media personality Arnell Ignacio was assigned from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Malacañang.
As he took on the role of Deputy Executive Director of OWWA, new challenges and responsibilities, he admitted that he didn’t have enough time spent with his then partner resulting to them breaking up. He said that just when he’s always traveling to the Middle East, where his former partner is based, that’s when they parted ways.
The Deputy Executive Director was asked about his plans for the month, he shared that there will be a celebration of the Migrant Workers’ Day on June 7, as for the Independence Day, he jokingly said that he just wants to enjoy his independence.
According to Arnell, he didn’t need to choose between his will to help the Overseas Filipino Workers or love life because he can manage to juggle both just fine.
He also mentioned that his experience as a celebrity also helped him with his current job especially with talking to the OFWs regarding their problems in their respective countries. He said that it helped him in such way that he can explain stuff clearly using the language of the normal Filipinos, wherein they won’t easily accept if it was a regular government official talking to them.
Arnell can make the Filipinos feel at ease because he explained that he just talks to them as if they’re longtime friends, using the tone they’re comfortable with.
Lastly, the director exclaimed that he does miss showbiz and he if only he had enough time, he would still be appearing on television.
