- Former senator Bong Revilla’s phone gets confiscated after posting a selfie on Facebook
- On June 20, Revilla marked his 4th year in prison with a selfie and a long post on his Facebook page
The police confiscated former senator Bong Revilla’s phone after posting a selfie on Facebook taken in his high-security detention facility at Camp Crame, Quezon City.
A report from the Philippine Daily Inquirer said that Revilla posted an update on his page on June 20 to mark his fourth anniversary in jail.
“Today is exactly my 4th year in prison.
This is 4 years away from my family; missing out on the milestones of my children’s lives; 4 years that I can no longer get back.
Let’s continue to pray together! God is Good!”
The original Facebook post is no longer available.
According to the Philippine National Police spokesman Senior Superintendent Benigno Durana, a unit inspected Revilla’s detention center at the Custodial Center in the headquarters.
The Ang Panday star was arrested four years ago over his alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam. He is also accused of taking millions of pesos from the public funds by directing his Priority Development Assistance Fund or PDAF into fake non-governmental organizations for ghost projects.
Durana stated that an investigation is on the way as to how Revilla managed to sneak in a mobile device inside the prison and it is clear that the former senator has violated rules implemented in the headquarters.
