In the interview, he asked the boxer about his thoughts regarding the support of the Philippine President and his fellow Filipinos. What caused the controversy was how she addressed the President of the Republic of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte as “your President”.
In a Facebook post, Reynoso said that aside from the current issue, he also found Castillejo’s interview with Matthysse rude.
Maliban sa ‘your President’ issue, Kami lang ba o napansin niyo din na medyo naging ‘rude’ si Dyan sa pag-interview niya kay Matthysse after the fight?
Reynoso’s followers agreed with his observation. A Netizen commented that Castillejo was not only rude but disrespectful as well.
Marang Morales also pointed out an alleged mistranslation done by Castillejo after she has interviewed the Argentinean boxer.
I saw it too.. right after she said nga the phrase “that was Matthysse saying Manny was just too much for him.” I readily blurted: said who? I didn’t hear him say that. He was all praises for Manny but at nonpoint did he say any of thosr words. That sounded way too arrogant.
On the other hand, Kim Atienza came to Castillejo’s defense saying that she’s actually apolitical.
