- Director Erik Matti shared a backstory regarding one of the seven names listed at the end credits of BuyBust.
- DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo volunteered herself to be an ‘extra’ in Matti’s on-going film project, Darna.
Filipino movie BuyBust has received recognition and impressive viewership in the country.
With mainly positive feedback, director Erik Matti can’t help but share one backstory of one of the departed individuals listed in the closing billboard (CBB) of the film, to whom the film was dedicated to-Lupe Romulo.
Lupe is the sister of Erwin Romulo, the film’s musical director.
The filmmaker said that Lupe was looking forward on watching the movie as she was Matti’s “number one fan” and he misses the moments he shared with her. He even added that she once asked to be an extra in his upcoming project with Star Cinema, Darna.
3. Lupe Romulo was my number one fan. She’s the sister of #erwinromulo our musical director. She was looking forward to watching #BuyBust before she died. I miss smoking a cigarette with her. And she had the most infectious laughter. She even asked to be casted as an extra in #Darna.
Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, who is also a sibling of Lupe, re-posted Erik’s photo, thanking him for including her sister’s name.
She then joked about replacing her sister as an extra in the show.
Thank you Dir @erikmatti for including Lupe’s name🙏🏻 Made me 😢 when i saw your post. Ako nalang mag e extra sa #Darna 😊 #Repost @erikmatti #BuyBust
Erik appeared to be keen in the idea and playfully replied “pwede” and “haha game!” as the secretary responded with “just tell me when direk!”.
Darna is a co-production of Star Cinema and the director’s Reality Entertainment. It has been billed as “a first in Philippine cinema” in terms of scale.
