- Ethel Booba expressed her disappointment at vandalism committed by rallyists.
- She clarified that she’s not against rallies but the mess they leave behind.
On September 21, rallies were held in light of the 46th anniversary of Ferdinand Marcos‘ declaration of martial law.
Amidst the arguments of the pro and anti Marcos, Ethel Booba called out all the rallyists that vandalized the surroundings in hopes to get their message across.
In one of her tweets, Ethel asked them about the possibility of expressing their emotions without having to make a mess of the environment.
Bandalismo na naman ang iniwan ng mga nagrally. Hindi ba nila kaya maglabas ng saloobin ng hindi dinudumihan ang kapaligiran? Gastos na naman pagpipintura dyan di bali sana kung art ang ginawa nyo. Charot!
There were netizens who expressed their disagreement but she explained her side, saying that she understands other people’s views but does not give them license to do wrong and vandalism is never reasonable.
Nanghinayang din kami sa mga perang napatunayang nanakaw pero hindi ibig sabihin na may nagawa sila mali eh maling gawain din ibabalik natin. Di ako kontra sa mga rally na talagang may pinaglalaban, doon lang talaga sa vandalism part. And I thank you! Charot!
A Twitter user encouraged her to join a rally so that she would know the reasons behind the vandalism but she declined.

Another netizen told her to listen to the rallyists’ side and she shared that she actually did talk to some of them and how she also explained to them why she’s against vandalism.
I listened from some of them. Actually nakausap ko iba via DM, they shared why do that and I explained why I’m against vandalism. We spoke about it wala na kaming arte arte na we are rooting for you or you are cancelledt. Charot!
Someone said that he hopes that someone would rally against vandalism and the comedienne immediately rode on the joke.

Ethel emphasized that she’s not against the rallies being done.
Again gaya ng sinabi ko sa ibang tweet ko, di ako against sa rally or protesta lalo at kita mong may tamang pinaglalaban. May ibang kilos protesta na after ng event eh madaming kalat ang iniiwan at yun ang sinisilip namin hindi ang kanilang mensahe sa ating mga kababayan. Charot!
Lastly, she expressed that she never said that she was chiding those who were in Luneta and urged them to read her tweets clearly.
FYI po sabi ko sa tweet ay “May ibang kilos protesta” at di ko sinabing about sa Luneta. Alam kong mas mataas ang pinag aralan nyo kesa sa akin pero basahin nyo sana mabuti. Charot!
