A seven year old child has been dragged and repeatedly hit by his own father after being accused of stealing someone’s cellphone in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
According to a report by GMA News TV on Tuesday, January 22, the act has been caught on camera. The kid was seen almost squatting while being beaten by his father.
There was even a moment that the father dragged and lifted his son, who was crying and screaming in pain.
A witness said that the man got mad after finding out that the child stole a cellphone from one of their neighbors. A few people was said to have seen the boy holding the phone and cash, which was also owned by the said neighbor.
When a few residents have tried stopping the father from hurting his son, he didn’t listen and continued on hitting the kid instead.
The report has reached the City Social Welfare and Development Office and the agency has started conducting the investigation on the incident.
