On February 3, 2019, Grethen and Tonyboy – a controversial relationship of “The Actress” and “The Business Magnate” – celebrated their 25 years of happily living together.
In an interview with Ricky Lo in 2002, Gretchen stated that she would love to get married to Tonyboy but his marriage with Denise Yabut-Cojuangco hasn’t been annulled. And she added that Tonyboy is an understanding man when it comes to their relationship and probably is the secret of their strong relationship.
“Tony is a peaceful person; he never picks a fight. He’s always the one who says ‘sorry’ even if I’m the one at fault. Ayaw niya ng gulo.”
Despite their good relationship, most have predicted that they won’t last more than two months and which they’ve proven wrong.

In her recent Live video on Instagram, with her friends publicly apologizing for their actions, she was reading to Jo-Ann Mula’s request letter for help on social media. There were people criticizing her domestic affairs to the extent of calling her “kabit.” As a reply, on the same video, she admitted the she was the “other woman” of Tonyboy Cojuanco for 24 years.”
And she added that, “If you threw that at me five years ago, maglulupasay po ako. Halos magpakamatay po ako sa sakit ng aking dibdib’pag tinatawag ninyo akong kabit. But right now, after 24 lovely years with my Tonyboy, you can call me “Kabit” and I will tell you, “I am happily his kabit, I am happily his mistress.”
Her life wasn’t perfect, noted Gretchen, “But the most important thing is being grateful for the unconditional love she has been receiving from Tonyboy.”

“I have a very flawed life, a flawed relationship, but I’m happy. It’s not perfect. He understands me fully, he loves me fully, and in his eyes, I can do no wrong. So who am I to complain? Life isn’t perfect. Where we live right now, it’s not heaven, you know. And I’m not the only one who lives an imperfect life,” shared Gretchen.
