- Homeless man experienced a life-changing moment when he met a pastor outside of a mall
- It touched the pastor’s heart while watching him searching for food on a trash bin
- It wasn’t only his looks he had to renew but he also got back the life he had
Each one of us faces different trials in life, as we bend our knees and pray to God asking for help. Like a homeless man who experienced a life-changing moment when he met a pastor outside of a mall in Quezon City, to grant his wish.
A Facebook user, Franklin Llanita Goden, a pastor, shared his experience in helping a homeless man named Erwin Dean, with whom he gave food and a makeover.
It touched the pastor’s heart while watching him searching for food on a trash bin outside the mall. Because of his mercy, he bathed him and bought new clothes, brought him to a barbershop to have his new haircut, ate on a fast food chain, and toured him inside the mall where he wasn’t allowed to enter before.
“First I saw him, then I feed him, then I shopped for clothing, then bathed him, then brought him to the barber shop, then brought him to mc do. Then show the mall’s life and made him smile,” Goden wrote on his Facebook post.

Dean was so grateful of Goden’s merciful heart and it wasn’t only his looks he had brought back, but also got back the life he had, when his sibling found him because of Goden’s viral post. It had been a long search for his siblings.
Dean’s siblings and relatives immediately contacted Pastor Goden and thanked him for the kindness he has given to him.
He also posted a message thanking God for what he has given for others, hoping that it will be an inspiration to other people.
“Thank God that the small thing I have done for others is now an instrument to inspire and influence the whole world,” said Goden.
Pastor Gonden had helped a person without any hesitation, with all his good intention he wouldn’t think that he would change the life of a person with the small help he offered. This truly affirms the quote that says “It’s better to give than to receive.”
