There are numerous dog bite cases in the Philippines. Once you have been bitten by a dog, you have to take a series of anti-rabies injections, and worst case is if you have to undergo surgery.
A dog has its own instinct to defend itself from any danger, so we should be aware of the simple triggers that can cause them to attack.
Actress-singer Antoinette Cherish Taus recently posted on her Facebook account that she had been attacked by a dog, a Chow-Chow breed on Saturday evening.
The dog had bitten her on the left forearm, left thigh, and right breast. And it took two hours for her left forearm to undergo surgery and suturing.
“I am currently confined and recovering from dog bites on my left forearm, left thigh, and right breast. I was attacked by a chow-chow on Saturday evening while at a family wedding in Baguio. My left forearm suffered the worst and took two hours of surgery and suturing.”
Antoinette also posted some pictures of her arm after the surgery. According to her, as she describes her wound, there were fatty tissues hanging out from her open wound and she can even see the tendons in her wrist. And she was so lucky that there was no permanent damage and no arteries or nerves were harmed.

“These are photos of my arm after surgery when my bandages were being changed. But initially, when it first happened, there was some fat hanging out of the wound and I could even see the tendon in my wrist. Luckily, there’s no permanent damage and no arteries or nerves were harmed.”
The dog is perfectly fine and thanks to her animal lover instincts she didn’t allow herself to harm the dog that attacked her. But then, it left an unforgettable experience and she was traumatized, most especially with a chow-chow breed.
Because of the experience, the actress gave a reminder to all who are thinking of getting a dog. “Please do consider adoption and give abandoned dogs a chance,” she said.

Maybe they should think of adopting dogs rather than buying expensive breeds. According to her, in some parts of the United States, they don’t allow dogs to be purchased in pet stores.
