- Proud BF shared story of how working two jobs helped send his GF to college
- By working two jobs, boyfriend was able to treat girlfriend to restaurants and pay for her tuition fee
- True love is the most selfless emotion of all, says GF to hardworking BF
A proud netizen shared on his social media account how he helped his girlfriend finish college by working as a bagger/messenger and as a call center agent simultaneously.
Ador Adrian Gabrieles wrote in his post that while he and Aira Arcamo were in a jeep going to Marilao four years ago, his girlfriend suddenly cried after she received a text message from her older sister saying that she has already enrolled and she is the only one left behind.
“Gusto mo ba ulit mag-aral?” he asked Arcamo and she nodded in response. That day, Gabrieles vowed to make her finish college. And so he worked as a bagger/messenger in a popular store.
Arcamo took up Bachelor of Arts in English and Gabrieles asked in return for his girlfriend to tutor him; and felt shy for having done so. He resorted to self-studying until he gained enough confidence in the English language.
It became a start for him to be able to work for a BPO company. Gabrieles was very happy then. Aside from being able to pay her tuition fee, he was also able to treat her in restaurants.
“Hindi pumalya ang pagbabayad ko sa matrikula ng girlfriend ko, at kapalit naman noon ay ang pag-aalaga at tunay na pagmamahal na nararamdaman ko kasama ko man siya o hindi.”
Second-guessing his actions was not above the fulfilled boyfriend. He would sometimes ask himself why he’s doing it, considering Arcamo could afford her schooling—them being an engineer and a teacher.

He found the answer to being able to show how much he loves his girlfriend and that he can be a responsible father for their future children one day.
“Ginagawa ko ito dahil mahal ko siya, espesyal siya, at deserve niya ang ganitong treatment… Makakamit na niya ang pangarap niya. Makakapaglakad na siya nang may tapang at may lakas ng loob dahil sa April 14, ganap na siyang degree holder. Mas daig ko pa ang nanalo sa lotto,” said Gabrieles.
Arcamo, reacting to the attention she got after Gabrieles’ post went viral, wrote back: “You see, no one will ever understand our story. Pero hindi yun dahilan para ijudge mo agad yung iba… Love is a deep emotion. Some think it is about caring for someone, some think it is pure obsession about someone, some think it’s selfish and you must get everything what you want from the person. But the truth is that, true love is the most selfless emotion of all. In true love, you don’t expect anything, you don’t want anything, you are free of all kinds of obsession, and you just want the person to be happy with their life. True love is indeed selfless and doesn’t demand anything from the person you love.”
