In a now viral tweet, a netizen has shared two photos comparing the food they prepared for her father’s birthday in their home, with her own father’s birthday meal overseas—only, the latter was so heartbreaking to look at as it consisted of one cup of instant noodles and a loaf of bread with a lit candle stuck on it.

She ended the post with a sad face and many netizens sympathized with her, making her Twitter post viral with over 44 thousand likes and nine thousand retweets, at the time this article was written.
It is known that overseas Filipino workers (OFW) have to work abroad to sustain the needs of their families and achieve their dreams of a better life for them; all the while constantly fighting the battle against loneliness and alienation from their loved ones.

“Yung lungkot siguro 10min max pero after maitulog mo siya, it’s just another day, back to normal,” Bhea’s father disclosed in his conversation with his daughter. “Bhea, basta cool lang kayo, kaya natin yan.
